Welcome to the RSC Mobile HAB lab

A HAB is a Harmful Algal Bloom. HABs are observed worldwide in aquatic environments, including in Lake Erie and other Pennsylvania watersheds. Under certain conditions, blooms may occur creating a serious health concern to humans and pets.

The RSC has been dedicated to observing, analyzing, and educate people about harmful algal blooms since 2014. We can now bring that education to you with our new Mobile HAB Lab! The Mobile HAB Lab is a traveling exhibit that we can bring to our partner schools, agencies, and veterinarian offices to help spread the word about the dangerous toxins produced by these bacteria.

The Mobile HAB Lab is on the move! Be sure to catch it at one of these upcoming events:

  • Next event TBA!

For more information about how you can help the RSC monitor for harmful algal blooms, visit our HAB Citizen Scientist page to see when our next training will be!
