Summer Field Assistant for the Purple Martin Conservation Association

The Purple Martin Conservation Association is seeking a field assistant for summer 2016!

Below is the job description and who to contact if you are interested in the position.

The Purple Martin Conservation Association is a non paid volunteer to assist 3 – 5 days per week from April through August (flexible hours from approximately 9:30 – 2) to assist with:

  • Learning about Purple Martins and managing their colonies
  • Assist with data entry on the computer
  • Band reading in the field
  • Assist with leg banding
  • Assist with trapping invasive species
  • Provide educational support to the public

This person will possess the following skills: Ability to lift items weighing 50+lbs, ability to work on the computer for extended periods, ability to learn new software, desire and ability to read bands in the field, ability to spend days outside in the elements working on housing management for bird.
